Since the assassination attempt on Donald Trump’s life, it’s as though the Democratic Party has wilted. Leaders are publicly supporting President Biden while privately they're throwing up their hands. The fist in the air, Trump's yelling “Fight!” as he is led away with blood dripping from his ear, the iconic photograph, have made some Democrats like little children who are afraid of ghosts coming after them. Defeat, they now say privately, is inevitable.

Are you kidding me?!?

A culture of whining, of complaint, of spinelessness is not my style. That’s not the Democratic Party I grew up with, or one I even recognize. 

The way I look at it, if you don’t have the gumption to take on Donald Trump then please get out of the way and let someone else do it. 

Yes, with President Biden we have an exceedingly weak candidate. I've been saying that for over a year and everyone can certainly see it now. But this is hardly the time to surrender. It’s time to open this process, do a blitz primary, open the convention, and get about the task of naming a new candidate. We need to make sure Mar-A-Lago is Donald Trump’s permanent residence for the next four years.

I have argued for the last two weeks that Democrats needed to be in crisis mode, ensuring that President Biden would step down and release his delegates. That having not occurred, it’s time now to take action.That’s what our team is working on this week, and we need your help. 

No, it is not acceptable to throw up our hands. No, it is not acceptable to watch the energy of the Republican convention that’s now taking place, a thud in our gut as we fear that our convention will be lifeless in comparison. 

If you help me now, that’s gonna happen.

And this is the week to make sure of it. We have a team at work on making it happen right now. It’s time to change the trajectory of the campaign, to make sure we defeat Donald Trump.

If no one else will stand up and do it, I will.
