Folks -- I sent a letter to Democrats in Congress to make it clear: I am staying in this race, and we're going to win.
Look, I have heard the concerns that people have, the good-faith fears and worries about what is at stake in this election. I am not blind to them. Believe me, I know better than anyone the responsibility and the burden the nominee of our party carries.
But let me say clearly and unequivocally: I wouldn't be running if I did not absolutely believe that I can and I will beat Donald Trump in November.
Now we must unite as a party. We must focus our attention and our efforts on defeating Trump, on defending American democracy, and on protecting people's freedoms.
But I can't do it without you. If you agree, click below to sign your name. There's real power in numbers, and it's important that our supporters from Seattle make their voices heard right now.
I feel a deep obligation to trust the voters of the Democratic Party.
Millions of you cast a ballot for me and Kamala in primaries across the country. That's the process. It was a decision for voters to make -- not the press, the pundits, the big donors, or any powerful interest group.
Look at what happened when we stood together in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023. We won.
Because the fact of the matter is we have a historic record of success to run on. We are the ones creating millions of jobs. The ones lowering costs for families, protecting Social Security and Medicare, combating climate change, and providing student debt relief.
There are 40 days until the Democratic National Convention. Any weakening of resolve or lack of clarity only helps Trump. So, I'm asking you to sign your name to show you stand with me, Kamala, and Democrats across the country in this election:
Folks, I've been energized by the determination this team has shown over recent weeks.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Joe
