The Fight for Democracy Continues. |
Dear Family,
As a supporter of the Cornel West
for President campaign, you understand the importance of standing firm
in the face of adversity. Recent developments in North Carolina have
shown just how vital our campaign is to the political landscape, as
the Democratic Party continues its attempt at stifling our
progress.
During the recent House Oversight
and Reform Committee hearings, it was uncovered that the North
Carolina Board of Elections was influenced by external pressures from
the Democratic Party, leading to serious procedural oversights. These
failures directly impacted efforts to secure ballot access for the
Justice for All Party - a party that represents truth, justice, and
genuine change.
|
|
Despite allegations from Democratic
operatives that 78 of North Carolina's counties failed to verify
petition signatures correctly, the state's investigation revealed the
reality: only four counties had issues, and the Justice for All Party qualifies
without the petitions collected in those
counties. |
|
This discrepancy highlights the
baseless nature of their claims and exposes the desperate tactics used
to undermine us. Our campaign spokesperson, Edwin DeJesus, put it
succinctly: “The weakness of these accusations underscores the lack of
a substantial case against us. Their desperation is, in a way,
a testament to the strength of our movement.”
This situation is not unique to
North Carolina; it is emblematic of a broader strategy employed across
the nation. The Democratic National Committee has openly declared its
intention to thwart third-party and independent candidates. They have
even gone as far as creating a task force to obstruct ballot access, revealing the
lengths they will go to preserve the two-party system.
|
|
"Yet, our resolve remains
unshaken."
Frankie Gist, a
candidate for Mayor with the Justice for All Party in North Carolina,
expressed this spirit beautifully:
“We won't be
moved! Nothing they do will stop us from winning this ballot and
winning the election. We must continue to fight and work together to
make change happen for all people.”
